ABOUT CLIVE |
||
| Clive
Packham was just 21 when he died in an accident on Mont Blanc in 1987.
However, in his life he had taken part in many adventurous activities and
most of his holidays had involved adventure travel for several years.
Clive had been a member of the 7th Burgess Hill Scout Group as a cub, scout and venture scout and was a well liked member of the group. ABOUT THE MEMORIAL FUND
The Fund exists to aid Scouts of West
Sussex to travel on their way to, or as part of, an adventurous expedition.
This aid will be in the form of a monetary grant made to an individual and
will go towards travel expenses. The Fund will only ASSIST in the purchase
of tickets not provide all the money required. The actual level of
assistance being decided by the type of expedition involved, and the effort
the individual Scout has already made to cover his or her costs. No
comparison is possible between grants year to year as the assistance the
Fund can give, in any one year, is limited. There is only a fixed amount of
jam which the Management Committee aims to spread fairly over as much bread
as possible. In all cases the emphasis must be on the adventurous travel or activity and in this respect the Fund will not support package skiing trips or similar, not will it normally aid persons that are part of a group expedition.
